Episode 1 - The Show Must Go On!
-- Training Room (Day) --
Sakuya: Good morning, everybody!
Tsuzuru: Mornin'.
Citron: Good morning to you!
Itaru: Morning.
Masumi: ...
Sakyo: ...
Sakuya: ?!
Tsuzuru: Uhh. Is that... ?
Sakuya: That's... the debt collector guy, right? What's he doing here?
Citron: Tsuzuru, you talk to him.
Tsuzuru: Hell no! Masumi, you do it!
Masumi: ...
Tsuzuru: Don't just ignore me!
Itaru: Summoning the director... now.
Izumi: Good morning, team!
Tsuzuru: Dang, Itaru.
Sakyo: ...
Izumi: Whoa!!

I mean, uh, hi. Can I help you with something? We're opening the show this month, just like we agreed to.

Sakyo: Is closing night sold out?
Izumi: Well, not exactly, no...
Sakyo: Remember, the deal's off if even one seat isn't filled.
Izumi: Thanks, I don't need the reminder.
Sakyo: Hmph. Whatever you say.
Sakuya: Is that all he came here for? A warning?
Tsuzuru: Pretty messed up, if you ask me.
Masumi: He sucks.
Itaru: Closing night isn't fully sold out yet?
Izumi: It's selling better than the other days, but nope.
Tsuzuru: Sounds rough.
Sakuya: There's gotta be something we can do to sell more tickets.
Citron: We could add meet-and-greet passes.
Izumi: That would work great if only we had an existing fanbase already.
Itaru: Yeah, nobody's going to know a new troupe from Adam.
Izumi: Hmm...
Kazunari: Heya, team!
Tsuzuru: Oh, hey Miyoshi. What's going on?
Kazunari: Just dropping by to support the 'troupes', ya know? I wanna know how things are going!
Tsuzuru: Oh, okay then.
Kazunari: Huh? Is it just me or are things, like, super dark here?
Tsuzuru: Tickets aren't selling like we want 'em to. We're trying to figure out how to promote ourselves more.
Kazunari: For real? Won't you be out on the streets if this doesn't work? That's no bueno, right?
Tsuzuru: Yes, it's 'no bueno', which is why every minute we spend explaining ourselves to you is-
Kazunari: Ooh, I've got it! You should just go on TV!
Izumi: Just go on TV? We can't exactly walk into a TV station and expect them to give us the time of day, you know.
Kazunari: Sure they will! Leave it to me. I'll put in a good word for you!
Izumi: You know people in the TV biz... ?
Kazunari: Hold on, I'm gonna make a few calls. Good luck!
Izumi: Hey, wait a-

Boy, that kid storms in and storms out like he owns the place.

Tsuzuru: That's Miyoshi, all right.
Masumi: I don't trust 'im.
Izumi: It WOULD be nice to do some promotive on TV, though...
--
Izumi: Okay, time for a one-hour break, then we can-
???: Excuse me, coming in!
Izumi: Huh?
???: Hi there, glad to be working with you!
Izumi: I'm sorry, should I know you?
Sakuya: Is that a camera?
Tsuzuru: What's going on here?
Anzai: The name's Anzai, director at Veludo TV. I'm here for the interview for The Show?
Izumi: Wait, you're doing an interview for a TV station?!
Anzai: You weren't expecting me?
Izumi: Not at all, no.
Anzai: That's strange. I called up your manager in advance.
Tsuzuru: He totally forgot.
Izumi: Absolutely.
Sakuya: Wow, I can't believe Kazunari really got us set up for a TV interview.
Itaru: Color me surprised. I wasn't expecting anything out of that kid.
Tsuzuru: His parents know a LOT of people.
Itaru: Ah, family connections.
Anzai: You don't mind if we do an interview, right?
Izumi: Of course not! Please, do whatever you need!
--
Anzai: Okay, cameras are rolling.
Reporter: Today I'm visiting the training room of the historic Mankai Company, a longstanding theatrical troupe highly regarded among the theater community.

First, let's speak with Izumi Tachibana, the director and supervisor. You went with an all-new roster for the upcoming show, yes?

Izumi: That's right! They're all fresh faces.
Reporter: The show's going to be Romeo and Juliet with a twist. Can you give us a general idea of what to expect from it?
Izumi: It's a story of friendship between Romeo and a male Juliet. A bromance, if you will. We're putting a lot into it, so we'd love if you'd check it out!
Reporter: Ah, good to know. Moving on, I'd like to hear some insights from the cast members.

Let's start with the two leads, Sakuya Sakuma and Masumi Usui.

Sakuya: It's a p-p-p-pleasure to b-b-b-be here!
Izumi: (Sakuya! Breathe! He's shaking like he had 10 coffees this morning.)
Masumi: Hey.
Reporter: Since your friendship is meant to take center stage, I'm guessing you two are in perfect synch by now?
Sakuya: Yes, um, absolutely! Right, Masumi?
Masumi: ...Nah.
Sakuya: Really?!
Reporter: Ahaha, their banter's in perfect synch already.

Tsuzuru Minagi, the actor playing Mercutio, also wrote the script for this production...

Tsuzuru: ...
Reporter: Tsuzuru?
Tsuzuru: Uh, yes! It's m-me. I wrote it. Yes!
Izumi: (Tsuzuru's so tense!)
Reporter: Have you encountered any difficulties serving as both an actor and a playwright?
Tsuzuru: Yes, well, um, I didn't exactly have long to write the script, so that was a challenge, but everything since then has been fun and worthwhile.
Reporter: You sound very motivated. Next up, Itaru Chigasaki, playing the role of Tybalt.
Itaru: Hi, glad to be here.
Reporter: Wow, we've got a real smooth operator here!
Itaru: Haha, I'm flattered, thanks.
Itaru: It's an all-male cast, and I'm sure all the ladies will find the play to be highly entertaining.
Izumi: (Who is this sparkling man in front of me? Because that is NOT the Itaru I know! Maybe this is his evil twin...)
Reporter: Next up, playing the friar is, ah... Citron, do I have that right?
Citron: Yes indeed.
Sakuya: Why is Citron wearing a mask?!
Tsuzuru: Where did he get that from?!
Citron: I cannot be going on TV without my makeup!
Tsuzuru: What are you, a high school girl?!
Reporter: Is that the friar's gimmick in this version of the play?
Tsuzuru: Not in the least!
--
Anzai: Okay, that's a wrap.
Anzai: Thanks for your time. I'll be in touch if anything else comes up.
Izumi: Thank you for coming by!
Reporter: Break a leg!
Izumi: Thanks!
--
Sakuya: Whew, I was so nervous!
Tsuzuru: I had no idea what I was even saying.
Citron: It was a bit more stifling that usual, was it not?
Tsuzuru: I think that's because of the mask!
Itaru: I hope this gets us some publicity.
Izumi: Yeah, same. We need all the ticket sales we can get.
