-- Training Room (Day) -- | |
---|---|
Izumi: | Next up, we'll start with the Mercutio scene in Act 2- |
Yuzo: | Hey. Guys. I'm goin' to catch a show, and you're comin' with. |
Izumi: | Yuzo?! Why the surprise visit? |
Yuzo: | 'Cuz there's a show comin' up for the troupe I coach. You're invited, so come check it out. You might learn somethin'. |
Izumi: | You coach your own troupe?
|
-- Yuzo's Troupe Theater -- | |
Izumi: | (Wow. The difference is telling.) |
Sakuya: | This is overwhelming... |
Tsuzuru: | That's Yuzo quality, all right... |
Citron: | He does not look like a yakuza for nothing! |
Itaru: | They outclass us completely. |
Izumi: | (I hope that wasn't too demoralizing for everybody. I'd better call a meeting when we get back.) |
-- Training Room (Evening) -- | |
Izumi: | Okay, let's talk about the positive ideas we picked up from- |
Sakuya: | Could we put in twists every day?! |
Tsuzuru: | I was thinking that. Y'know, like adlibbing and stuff. |
Sakuya: | I heard people in the audience talking about how they kept coming to see what they mix up next! |
Izumi: | Uh, yeah. That's good. |
Itaru: | We could do some street acts in the lobby if we have the time. |
Citron: | That was also good, yes! |
Tsuzuru: | We might wanna liven up our show more. They made really effective use of lighting. |
Masumi: | Use more of the stage. |
Tsuzuru: | Yeah, let's consider how we're moving. |
Izumi: | Good call. |
Sakuya: | We don't have to do all of the bit roles internally, right? Wouldn't it better to bring in guest actors to play the extras? |
Izumi: | Yeah, I can talk with Matsukawa about pulling in some extra muscle from other troupes. |
Tsuzuru: | That might be an improvement. It'd save us a lot of time and trouble with costume changing. |
Izumi: | Wow, you guys. I was afraid you might be intimidated by the quality of that performance but you're already using this as brainstorming material! |
Sakuya: | Well, I want to make our play even better. |
Tsuzuru: | I want to do everything we possibly can. |
Masumi: | I don't wanna lose. |
Citron: | I must do my part! |
Itaru: | No reason to settle for less than perfection. |
Izumi: | (Looks like I was worried over nothing. Everybody's matured so much! Oh shoot, I'm getting all emotional now.)
|
-- Living Room (Night) -- | |
Tsuzuru: | ... |
Izumi: | Oh, hey Tsuzuru. You're up late. |
Tsuzuru: | Just one of those nights. |
Izumi: | Oh yeah? |
Tsuzuru: | When I close my eyes, all I see is the play we caught today. |
Izumi: | It was incredible, wasn't it? I thought you guys would feel dwarfed by it, but you've really come a lot stronger. |
Tsuzuru: | Real talk? I got scared, and I felt like crap. I just pulled myself together since I knew we had more important things to worry about. |
Izumi: | That just means you've matured enough to shrug it off. |
Tsuzuru: | You think? I sure wish I'd gotten into theater sooner.
|
Izumi: | You never joined your school drama club or anything? |
Tsuzuru: | I was too busy taking care of my little brothers for any clubs.
|
Izumi: | Ah... So you had to put your family before yourself. |
Tsuzuru: | That's what I tell myself, anyway.
|
Izumi: | But you went to Veludo Way to live your dream and join a troupe anyway, right? |
Tsuzuru: | Well, yeah... |
Izumi: | Then it was just a minor delay in the grand scheme of things.
|
Tsuzuru: | Y'know, maybe you're right.
|
Izumi: | Exactly. And all of those experiences were what fueled you in the week you spent writing it. |
Tsuzuru: | Haha, you're not wrong. At the time I was just fixated on the fact that if I couldn't knock it out now, I'd never get it done.
|
Izumi: | And you can keep writing. I'm gonna need you to. You're the Mankai Company's official playwright, after all. |
Tsuzuru: | Oh geez, that's going a little overboard, don't you think? |
Izumi: | Not in the least! |
Tsuzuru: | Guess we've gotta make this play succeed first, if I wanna keep writing more. |
Izumi: | We sure do. Let's knock it out of the park. |
